COACHING STAFF
Ryan Reynolds - Head Coach
Ryan Reynolds begins his 10th year with Clovis East. Before moving up to Varsity 6 years ago he was the J.V. Head Coach for three years. The past six years he has coached outside and inside linebackers along with being the Defensive Coordinator. Ryan played football for Clovis West High School. He played inside linebacker and tight end and was voted All-Valley/ All League and Player of the Year. His team also won the Valley Championship in 1995. Ryan graduated from Fresno State with a degree in History. He has been teaching American Government for the past 2 years. When not coaching he spends time golfing and playing basketball. He also spends time with his mother Mary Lou and sister Regan. Coaching philosophy: “Enjoy what you do and work as hard as you can to be the best at what you do.”

Tim Murphy - Sports Director
Coach Murphy has coached football for 13 years. He was the defensive coordinator at Mt. Diablo HS and Head Coach at Ygnacio Valley HS before coming to Clovis East. His teams have won 9 league championships and 3 CIF championships. He has been coach of the year 3 times. Coach Murphy went to College Park HS and was a two-time All-League DB and WR, ran Track and played Baseball. After HS he played strong safety at UC Santa Barbara. He is the author of two books and several videos on the Double Wing Offense and 4-4 Swarm Defense.
Coaching philosophy: "Teach kids that the best things in life come from working hard and never quitting no matter how difficult the task."
Greg Connor- Running Back Coach
Greg Connor came to CEHS in 2001 as a running back and special teams coach. Prior to CEHS, Greg coached football at Richmond High for 2 years and Hanford High for 9 years. Greg attended Concord High where he played football, basketball and baseball. He went on to play baseball for Los Medanos Jr. College. He finished his BS degree at Sacramento State and his MA at Fresno State.
When not coaching Greg enjoys spending time with his family. He and his wife Jennifer have two daughters, Lexi and Caitlin. He enjoys traveling, weight lifting, computers and working in the yard.
Coaching philosophy: “To develop positive relationships with the student/athletes I am fortunate to work with so they can learn and appreciate.”
Mitch McDuff - Outside Linebacker Coach
Mitch is currently the Outside Linebacker coach for the varsity. He has previously been the Head Freshman coach and an asst. J.V. coach at Clovis East and will coach his second season with the varsity this year. He played football at Burroughs High School and Alan Hancock Community College. Mitch has a BS in Kinesiology from Fresno State and is working on his Masters Degree.
His mom, Tesa and dad, Dave, raised Mitch. He has two sisters, Melanie and Emily. When not coaching he enjoys ping-pong, Madden video games, darts and playing pool.

Tim Randall - Defensive Line Coach
Tim began coaching at CEHS in 2001 as a DL coach. He began his coaching career at Hanford High and has since coached at Tulare Western, Bullard and Sunnyside. Tim played football at Hanford High as a two-time All-League lineman, College of the Sequoias as a linebacker and long snapper and went on to San Francisco State to play linebacker and long snapper.
Tim received his BA in Journalism from Fresno State and currently teaches 10th grade English at Clovis East.
Tim and his wife Karen have a daughter, Kayla and son, T.J. When not coaching he enjoys camping, fishing, NASCAR and spending time with his family.

Phillip Puentes
Coach Puentes is entering his 5th year at Clovis East as a football coach, and 3rd year on the varsity staff, where he serves as the Offensive Line coach and asst Defensive Line coach. Coach Puentes was the JV Head Coach for this years group of seniors. He is currently working on his Pyschology degree and wants to someday become a Divsion 1 College Football Head Coach. In his free time Coach Puentes enjoys traviling, watching football and spending time with his family.
