The Clovis East Football program has been commonly referred to as the valley’s best program of the new millennium.  Five League Championships, 2 Valley Championships, 2 Division 1 Rushing Titles, 3 top 10 State rankings, 1 top 25 National Ranking, 5 Central Valley Power lifting Championships, almost 40 All-League Players, 34 City/County All Stars, 11 All-Valley Players and 2 All State Players.  In 2005 the Fresno Bee called the Clovis East football program the most successful new school the Valley has seen.
With this come some big shoes to fill for the 2008 T-Wolves. And with one of the toughest schedules in the state it is not going to be easy. The T-Wolves will be traveling to Texas to take on one of the Nation’s best programs in Heritage High School just outside of Dallas. Heritage has 9 division 1 athletes, 7 who have already committed to some big time colleges. The game will take place in Texas Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Then the Wolves will then travel down to Southern CA and play Redlands High School who is one of the teams they will be competing with in a bowl bid this coming December. After that it’s off to Sanger, Bullard (this game will be televised and be the game of the week on Comcast Sports Net), followed by a trip up North to take on Grace Davis of Modesto and then on to one of the best leagues in the state, the vaunted TRAC.

Needless to say Clovis East’s 2008 team really has its hands full. But with returning starters such as Nate Montagne (tight end), Taylor Scott (quarterback), Mark Tom (fullback) and Josh Hanlin (Center) they should definitely put some points on the board. Adding to that point total will Hunter Haushel and Paul Jimenez running for some big time yards and breaking several tackles along the way. The offensive line consisting of Dakota Barlow, Paul Bracamontes, Rueben Ruiz, Eric Savanpanyadeth will be pushing guys all of the place making for some big time holes in the opposing defense. Defensively the T-Wolves have no returning starters but Alex Bowser, Ray Valdez, Dennis Glukhoy and Jordan Ruiz will make for some big hitting at linebacker. Mike Marozik, Marcos Cenra and Willy Irwin will provide a punch at defensive line. The defensive backs led by Robert Galvez, Aaron Opie and Sean Duarte will control the pass attack and provide some solid second level support against the run.

Overall it should be a great season so as they say in Dallas, “get your popcorn ready” and enjoy the season.

In 2005 the Fresno Bee called the Clovis East football program the most successful new school the Valley has seen. And this past season they called the T-Wolves the most dominant football program in the valley this decade.
